Hourly Pay Rate: £12.97 (time and a quarter for any hours worked over 40 in a week).
Shift Pattern: Sunday to Thursday, 5pm Start, working until job is finished. Shifts can range from 7-hours to 12-hours depending on the number of orders being picked. You will be offered the shifts available on a weekly basis.
Weekly paid, employed on an on-going temporary basis, with potential to transfer to full-time temporary to permanent.
Job Summary: We are seeking night shift warehouse operatives that can cover shifts from a Sunday to Thursday as and when required. Responsible for various picking and packing tasks of small to medium sized products and parts, identifying through product codes and visual matching, within the warehouse environment, ensuring smooth operations in receiving, storing, and dispatching goods, as well as lifting, and carrying up to 25KG.
Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track stock.
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stocking and organisation of goods.
- Perform picking and packing of orders accurately to meet shipping deadlines.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, including loading and unloading lorries.
- Conduct regular checks on inventory levels and report discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Engage in heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Utilise mechanical knowledge for basic maintenance of equipment when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Requirements:
- Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in materials handling techniques and practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) safely and effectively.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stocking procedures.
