Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Day Stores Forklift Operative to join our warehouse team.
You must have a full UK driving license and car!
Hourly Pay Rate: £13.03 (depending on forklift experience and licenses).
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday: 6:30am Start / 3pm Finish (8-hours per shift / 40-hour per week).
Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklift equipment safely when required (forklift truck driving will not be 100% of your daily duties), you will also be handling materials (manual lifting and handling up to 25KG), supporting daily goods-in and goods-out operations, across cold storage, warehouse, and production sites.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse and forklift experience, who want to contribute to efficient warehouse management, and production supply chain inventory.
You will work across multiple sites within a 10-minute drive of each other, which will require you to drive company vehicles on public roads (which is why you will need a full UK driving license).
Work in an outdoor yard environment (all weathers), cold storage facilities (-18 to -25 degrees), and other warehouse environments when required, all within the same day.
Duties
- Operate Pivot Steer or Flexi or Bendi forklift trucks to load, unload, and move goods efficiently and safely.
- Assist with goods-in and goods-out, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control.
- Handle materials using appropriate equipment, always adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain organisation of stock in designated storage areas, ensuring easy access and stock rotation, wet and dry goods, as well as perishables.
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately, as well as manually labelling stock.
- Support in the loading of lorries and distribution of goods throughout the warehouse.
- Conduct regular safety checks on equipment and report any faults or issues promptly.
- Drive company vehicles on public roads to get stock from one site to another.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklift trucks you must have a valid forklift training certificate or license (flexi or bendi or pivot steer).
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for stock control and tracking.
- Strong materials handling skills with an understanding of load capacities and safe lifting techniques.
- Ability to perform basic maths for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation purposes.
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes, including loading/unloading procedures.
- Physical fitness for heavy lifting tasks and standing for extended periods.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in stock management.
- Awareness of health & safety regulations relevant to warehouse operations.
