Temporary Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking Temporary Workers who will consider 4 to 8-hours shifts Monday to Friday, on a part-time, temporary / ad-hoc basis.

Ideally, we are looking for candidates who have worked in the construction sector as yard operatives, general labourers, ground workers. We will also consider candidates from other industry sectors that required lots of physical duties (lifting, carrying, working on your feet).

You will be working in an out-door yard and warehouse storage facility, supporting with various stock deliveries of perishable goods, that are delivered to site, or being loaded for delivery.

The site location is about 21-minutes\’ walk from Eastleigh Train Station, and a local bus route is also available to get to and from work. Free parking on site if you drive to work. You must be able to get to and from site and complete a full shift that you are booked in for, to gain additional shifts.

As shifts are booked on an ad-hoc temporary basis, and can be booked last minute, you will need to have a pair of steel toe capped safety boots to work a shift.

Potential Shift Patterns Monday to Friday:

• Full Day – 7:50am to 5pm
• Half Day – 7:50am to 13:00 /or/ 12:00 to 5pm

Hourly Pay Rate Range: £12.21 to £12.25

Team Duties

• Work in cold storage units and 2-meter-tall shipping containers.
• Unload and load boxes that weigh up to 10kg each.
• Work to a deadline of 3-hours per container.
• Breakdown and clean the yard after each container completed.
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Working in temperatures as cold as -18 / -21 degrees.

Experience

• Previous manual handling, or physical work experience is essential, as the work will be demanding.
• Can understand direction, duties, and responsibilities.
• Worked in a warehouse, or construction, or yard environments previously would be an advantage.
