Position Summary

We're seeking a Chartered Planner to serve as the Complaints Investigator, leading the Institute's work on professional ethics and supporting the Conduct and Discipline Panel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising and supporting members in understanding and adhering to the Code of Conduct.
  • Conducting initial assessments of complaints and recommending whether they should proceed to investigation.
  • Investigating cases of alleged misconduct.
  • Providing proactive guidance and training on ethical conduct.
  • Supporting the Conduct and Discipline Panel in determining outcomes and appropriate sanctions.
  • Promoting professional ethics both within the Institute and more widely.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Town planning or law qualification.
  • Experience working in the planning profession.
  • Understanding of professional conduct and ethics in planning.

Work Flexibility

Flexible remote working options (home, London, Cardiff or Edinburgh) with a handful of face‑to‑face meetings in London. Contracted weekly hours are flexible.
