We are looking for an experienced Team Administrator to support the day-to-day activities and general administration of the Enterprise Impact programmes (EIP) team. This is a one-year fixed term position.
The EIP team delivers programmes to enable start-up businesses to commercialise novel technologies and catalyse collaborative projects between global chemical corporations, policymakers, universities and beyond.
As Team Administrator, you will ensure the smooth running of the EIP team by managing day-to-day administration, coordinating logistics for events, and acting as the first point of contact for external enquiries. You’ll support financial processes, reporting, and logistics for workshops, while helping improve efficiency through innovative approaches, including AI tools.
This role is ideal for someone organised, proactive, and passionate about enabling programmes that connect innovators, industry leaders, and policymakers to advance chemical sciences globally.
At the RSC we embrace flexibility and offer hybrid working, which means our teams come together when they need to collaborate. Although this role is contractually based at our Cambridge office, you will be able to work from home within the UK, with the expectation that you will attend the office on an ad-hoc basis. There will be some UK travel required and occasional evening work. If you need flexible working arrangements, please outline this in your application.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule meetings, book rooms and coordinate travel arrangements.
- Assist with procurement, invoicing, expense processing, payments to grant beneficiaries.
- Coordinate logistics for external workshops and stakeholder engagements, including online/offline workshops, multi-day events.
- Support reporting and data collection for team projects.
- Act as the initial point of contact for external email enquiries.
- Provide direct information and guidance to the community for routine queries related to the different initiatives and directing more complex requests to team members or colleagues across the organisation as appropriate.
- Occasionally make phone calls to remind the community of upcoming events and other opportunities for involvement.
- Identify and implement improvements in our administrative processes using AI.
What we are looking for:
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint).
- Familiarity with financial systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- An effective team player, with the ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy along with negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to develop and implement novel approaches and processes to ensure efficiencies.
- Previous experience in an administrative or team support role.
