We're looking for an Assistant Arboricultural Officer to join our Arboriculture Team and support the management of our valuable tree stock across parks, highways, housing estates and other public spaces. The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are: Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James's Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park. We also manage other important public spaces including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. Our eight Royal Parks and other public spaces are among the most visited attractions in the UK with tens of millions of visits every year. We are now looking for an Assistant Arboricultural Officer to join us on a permanent, full-time basis, working 36 hours per week. The Role As an Assistant Arboricultural Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the management and protection of TRP's tree stock, helping to ensure trees are safe, healthy and contribute positively to the local environment. Working alongside experienced Arboricultural professionals, you will assist with tree inspections, assess maintenance requirements, monitor contractor performance and respond to enquiries from residents and stakeholders. You will also support the delivery of tree planting and biodiversity initiatives, maintain accurate tree records and contribute to TRP's environmental and sustainability objectives. About You To be considered as an Arboricultural Officer, you will need: A qualification in Arboriculture, Forestry, Environmental Management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience Level 2/ 4 qualification in tree inspection Knowledge of tree species identification, tree biology and Arboricultural principles Understanding of tree risk management and relevant legislation.
