The Catering Department are looking for Band 2 Catering Assistants - Dining Room / Food Production to work flexible hours. We are looking for motivated individuals with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team or alone, who are customer focused with an ability to react to situations as they occur.
The Facilities Catering Assistant will be a multi-skilled person working within a team. It may be necessary for you to work in different sections of the Catering Department, usually on duties appropriate to your grade.
Main duties of the job:- To be responsible for cleanliness and hygiene standards in the Catering Department.
- To provide an efficient and effective catering service to Patients, Staff and Visitors delivering excellent patient care in line with the Trust’s values.
- To be responsive to service needs as they arise and constantly seek to improve the productivity and quality of the service by providing a fully supported service over a 7 day week period.

Person specification:- Hold CIEH Level 1
- Good standard of Education and the English Language
- Working towards CIEH Level 2
- Understands the need for good Hygiene standards
- Understand the principles of HACCP
- Understand the principles of cross contamination and prevention
- Catering experience
- Must demonstrate a pleasant, helpful disposition at all times
- Must be trustworthy, punctual and have a flexible approach to work including the ability to change shifts at short notice
- Must be able to provide an excellent attendance record
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely with Patients, Visitors and hospital staff
- Professional and positive approach
- Willingness to explore new ways of thinking (innovation)
- Expand skills & Knowledge through specialist learning and development
