Overview

The Olayan unit is a day care facility, providing intravenous chemotherapy and supportive therapies to patients with a wide variety of solid and haematological cancers.
The unit offers a modern, pleasant environment to ensure comfort and a relaxed setting throughout the patient's pathway.
We are looking for a highly motivated, positive senior staff nurse or an experienced band 6 looking to progress, with a calm leadership style to support leading and managing a busy day care unit.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team, manage shifts, and contribute to service improvement in a friendly, supportive day care setting.
- Coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence-led care to patients.
- Exercise clinical judgment and decision making about patient needs in terms of long term goals or plans.
- Participate in the day to day organization and running of clinical trials including the recruitment, education and monitoring of patients entering a clinical trial and liaison with trial sponsors.
- Assume personal accountability for nursing care delivered to a patient in accordance with the NMC code of conduct.
- Promote a safe clinical environment for all patients, visitors and staff.
- Participate in Trust initiatives around infection control and care quality indicators.
- Assist with local or Trust initiatives to ensure the continuous improvement of the quality of services and safeguarding of high standards of care.
- Be aware of all hospital policies and procedures and collaborate with other health care professionals to ensure that these are observed.
