The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The post holder will be employed by The Royal Marsden Hospital and based at the Sutton site. The post holder will be expected to play a pivotal role in the GI service at RMH for all patients. The post holder will be required to participate in the RMH out-of-hours medical oncology consultant on-call rota. The job planning process will be carried out in partnership with the employer and employee. The post holder will report to The Head of the GI Unit and be managed within the Division of Cancer Services. Tumour specific commitments will be conducted in the GI unit. Office space and secretarial support will be provided in the Sutton branch of the Royal Marsden.
Resident doctors (HEE trainees and specialty registrars) also support the clinical and research activities of the GI team. To supervise (clinical and educational supervision) doctors in training in the GI team and to undertake teaching as appropriate. To attend the unit specific MDMs, clinics and departmental meetings. To lead inpatient board rounds and reviews on the designated days. To participate in and support the multidisciplinary care team which includes Medical Oncologists, Clinical Oncologists, Surgeons, the relevant junior team, Specialist Nursing Staff, Therapists, Dietician, Social worker, Palliative Care and Counselling for patients and families.
