The Breast Research Nurse works under the supervision of the senior research nurse in the research team, playing a key role in the day‑to‑day operation of clinical trials within the Trust focused on anti‑cancer treatment and related care. The role involves recruitment, education, monitoring of participants, maintenance of accurate records, and ensuring compliance with ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, educate and monitor patients entering clinical trials.
  • Support patients by providing advice, information and advocacy.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive data records for research studies.
  • Ensure all research safeguards patient well‑being and adheres to ICH GCP.
  • Contribute to trial design and incorporate patient and nurse perspectives.
  • Liaise with pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions during trial development.
