Responsibilities
- Provide the clinical leadership of the pharmacy provision to NHS patients undergoing systemic anticancer therapy (SACT) at The Royal Marsden.
- Work as an integral member of the oncology pharmacy team jointly providing an expert pharmacy service to oncology patients, the multidisciplinary team and provide highly specialist support to the wider pharmacy team in this area.
- Lead on pharmaceutical issues relating to a specific oncology clinical unit, ensuring adherence to national guidelines and medicines legislation.
- Provide education and training within the pharmacy department and the wider Trust.
- Provide a framework for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective use of drug resources within the specific oncology unit by the provision of procedures, protocols and drug usage information.
- Provide a pharmacy clinical service to patients receiving SACT on the NHS day units, inpatient wards and outpatient clinics, as well as care closer to home services.
