This is a substantive full‐time consultant post in Clinical Oncology specialising in Neuro‐oncology with a focus on Teenage & Young Adult (TYA) Neuro‐oncology. The post holder will join the existing neuro‐oncology team, providing leadership and contributing to ongoing research, education and service development at The Royal Marsden.
The post holder will be expected to develop the neuro‐oncology TYA service and will be fully integrated with the adult neuro‐oncology team working at the RM Sutton campus. Specifically, the new consultant will work closely with the existing clinical oncology consultants to co‐ordinate care for TYA neuro‐oncology patients and cross‐cover.
As a senior member of the medical team, the postholder will provide clinical leadership and support for the effective development of the TYA Neuro‐oncology service and attend the relevant operational meetings.
- Deliver high‐quality clinical care to patients with CNS tumours, with dedicated input into the TYA Neuro‐oncology Service.
- Participate in weekly multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to treatment planning and decision‐making.
- Provide outpatient and inpatient care at The Royal Marsden with cross‐site responsibilities as required.
