The Royal Communications team is at the heart of how the Royal Family connects with audiences around the world. As Videographer, you’ll play a key role in shaping how those stories are told across digital platforms, capturing moments that are shared globally. Working within the Private Secretary’s Office, you’ll take a social-first approach to storytelling, working on end-to-end video and photography production to produce high-quality content for platforms including Instagram, X and YouTube. From major state events to behind-the-scenes moments, you’ll ensure every piece of content is engaging, creative and impactful.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, shoot, edit and publish video and photographic content across Royal visits and initiatives, delivering both social and longer form content.
  • Develop creative, social-first storytelling ideas and formats that grow audience reach, managing projects from concept to delivery.
  • Cover Royal visits, engagements and key initiatives across the UK and occasionally overseas.
  • Build relationships across the organisation to uncover stories and collaborate with stakeholders to meet strategic objectives.
  • Use a range of equipment, from high-end DSLR cameras to a mobile, applying your instinct for what works to create on trend content that reaches new audiences.
  • Keep up to date with trends and continually evolve content to maximise reach and engagement.
  • Train and upskill colleagues to support content capture at events.
  • Manage filming equipment and contribute to kit investment decisions.

Essential Criteria

  • You’ll be an experienced videographer with a strong creative instinct and a great understanding of social media content.
  • You have proven expertise producing engaging social-first video content, with an understanding of high performing content across social media platforms.
  • You are highly skilled with using a range of filming equipment, lighting, audio, and green screen setups.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • You are comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • You can confidently direct and work with senior stakeholders, with experience working alongside videographers, creators and strategic teams.
  • You’re organised, adaptable and able to deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
  • You bring fresh ideas, a proactive mindset and a passion for storytelling through developing innovative content formats and ideas.
