Royal Collection Trust's retail operations sell a wide range of giftware from limited edition porcelain and jewellery to postcards and souvenirs. All of the revenue from these sales is directly invested into the care and conservation of the incredible Royal Collection.
As the Retail and Admissions Assistant Manager at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, you'll drive sales and lead a dedicated team to deliver both an exceptional retail and visitor experience to the site.
Key Responsibilities:- Leading a dedicated and enthusiastic front-line team, ensuring they are ready to meet the day's demands and offering outstanding service to every visitor.
- Co-ordinating daily team activities and being the first port of call for any queries.
- Guiding, training, and supporting your team to ensure they are motivated and equipped to deliver their best and achieve budgeted sales targets and KPIs.
- Overseeing day-to-day operations in the shops and at the admissions desks, including stock movement, visual merchandising, and promotions.
- Reviewing the ticketing procedure to help optimize sales.
- Running through opening checks ahead of busy days or recruiting new talent for your team.

About youEssential Criteria:- Experience in a retail and/or ticketing profession, with the ability to drive sales and KPIs through exceptional customer service and commercial focus.
- Strong leadership skills, familiar with recruitment and training processes, eager to lead a team from the front.
- Capable with IT, confident using a range of systems and possessing good numeracy skills.
- Well organised and used to working at pace, able to work flexibly and effectively even when deadlines are challenging.
- Logical approach to problem solving, remaining calm in a busy environment and using good judgement to resolve queries.
- Understanding of what it takes to create a lasting and positive customer experience.
