The Opportunity

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Finance Officer to join our small finance team. Working closely with the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring our financial records are accurate, organised, and up to date. As a small team, this is a broad and varied role offering real responsibility and exposure across all areas of finance. You will need to be comfortable working independently, managing your own workload, and adapting in a busy environment. We are also currently transitioning to a new ERP/finance system, providing an excellent opportunity to be involved in system and process improvements.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Processing purchase and sales ledger transactions
  • Posting bank entries and preparing bank reconciliations
  • Processing supplier payments and supporting cash management
  • Assisting with invoice and expense processing
  • Supporting month-end activities, including journals and reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate financial records during system transition
  • Providing general finance support in a small, hands-on team

What Were Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a finance or accounts role
  • Good working knowledge of purchase and sales ledger processes
  • Confident using Excel and accounting systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Clear and professional communication skills

Just as importantly, you will be:

  • Comfortable working in a small team with broad responsibilities
  • Able to manage and prioritise your own workload effectively
  • Proactive in asking questions and solving problems
  • Resilient and adaptable, particularly during periods of change
  • Ideally experienced in a small business or fast-paced environment
  • Payroll experience is an advantage but not essential.

This role is on site Monday to Friday 8am-4pm 36.25hrs per week.
