We have a newly created opportunity for a Test Team Leader to join our fantastic Technology team at RBL. Here at the Royal British Legion, we are currently embarking on an exciting new phase with our Customer, Technology and Change directorate. Together this team, covering Technology, Data Protection and our Transformation Management Office, takes great pride in supporting across RBL with all things technology, security, digital, data, programme management and change initiatives. Based in our Product Engineering team, the new Test Team Leader will be responsible for defining and leading the quality approach across Agile product squads, ensuring that changes delivered into our technology estate are robust and reliable. It will provide clear leadership to Test Analysts, enabling consistent, high-quality testing practices and supporting the development of a strong, capability-driven test practice within the Technology team.

Reporting to our Head of Product Engineering, this role will work collaboratively with Product Owners, Delivery Managers, Business Analysts, Engineers and third parties ensuring that quality is embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle. It will champion continuous improvement, advocate for automation where it adds value and removes repetition and drives a culture in which every team member shares responsibility for delivering high-quality, low-risk change.

The successful applicant will have proven experience leading testing activity within Agile or hybrid delivery environments, ideally in a multi-product or multi-team technology organisation, alongside experience managing Test Analysts. They will be an excellent communicator, able to confidently lead and have the ability to influence, translating technical risk into clear business language.

You will be contracted to our Haig House hub with a minimum expectation of two days per week working in person at the hub and flexibility for working remotely/at home when not on site.
