The Royal British Legion is embarking on a significant phase of digital and organisational transformation. As part of our newly formed Data, Technology and Transformation Directorate, we are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director: Technology to shape and lead the next stage of our technology strategy.
This is a newly redefined role, evolved to align with the ambitions set out in our refreshed organisational strategy. The remit has expanded significantly, reflecting the need for a more integrated, modern, and strategic approach to how technology enables our services, supports operational excellence, and drives long-term value.
Building on our previous efforts, we are now seeking a technology leader who truly understands how to design and govern modern ecosystems of applications, with particular expertise in Microsoft platforms and enterprise technologies.
You will lead a team of senior Heads across engineering, architecture, cyber security, testing and operations, providing clear direction while fostering a culture of modern delivery, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. The role requires a strategic mindset and the ability to align complex technology programmes with broader organisational objectives. Experience of agile and flow-based delivery models, modern service design, and scalable platforms will be key.

You will be contracted to our London Hub, Haig House. Under our Future Working framework, there will be some flexibility for working remotely/at home, using our collaboration tools to work with colleagues, but with a minimum expectation of two days per week connecting directly face-to-face with colleagues at the hub.
