We have a great opportunity for a part-time Library Advisor to join us! The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) is set in the wider county of Berkshire, one of the most economically productive and innovative areas of the country. The library service takes pride in its exceptional team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about providing quality library services to the community. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Library Advisor to join our Library and Resident Contact (Face to Face) team.

The role involves:

  • Delivering excellent customer service to library customers
  • Dealing with enquiries including council customer services and general community signposting and support services
  • Working with partners
  • Facilitating the use of library spaces by other organisations to deliver support services whilst generating income
  • Assisting customers with digital support

What we are looking for:

  • Someone who is well connected within the Windsor community, with an excellent understanding of local groups, organisations and events.
  • A love of books and reading
  • An understanding of the value of the public library service to communities and individuals
  • Excellent digital skills and the ability to show people how to use a variety of digital devices
  • The ability to work at any location in the Borough and to do physical work such as carrying boxes of books, pushing loaded book trolleys and being on your feet walking between floors and across the library for extended periods of time
  • Someone who loves helping people
