We have an exciting opportunity for a Guildhall Duty Officer to join us! This is a permanent role based at the historic Windsor Guildhall, working primarily on site. The role involves regular evening and weekend working, reflecting the busy events programme hosted at the Guildhall. The salary for this role is £30,193 - £34,104 per annum.

The Role: As Guildhall Duty Officer, you’ll play a key part in the day‑to‑day operation of the Guildhall, supporting both the Guildhall Museum and the wide range of events held in the building. Reporting to the Service Lead for Economic Growth, you will act as a key holder for the venue and oversee casual staff and volunteers while on duty. This is a varied, hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems on the spot and ensuring events run smoothly from start to finish.

Your role will involve:

  • Opening and closing the Guildhall and acting as Duty Officer during museum opening hours and events
  • Supporting the planning, set‑up and clear‑down of weddings, meetings, dinners and civic events
  • Supervising casual staff and volunteers while on shift
  • Providing excellent customer service to museum visitors and event guests
  • Assisting with bookings administration, including responding to enquiries, invoicing and ordering
  • Helping to ensure the safety, security and smooth operation of this busy historic venue

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in hospitality, events or customer service
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deal confidently with visitors and colleagues
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, with confidence using computer‑based systems
  • An organised and flexible approach, with the ability to respond calmly when plans change
  • A team‑focused attitude and pride in delivering excellent service

A full driving licence is required, and the role includes working evenings and weekends on a regular basis. A basic DBS check will be required.
