This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Sustainability Projects Officer to join our Sustainability and Climate team.
The Role: Reporting to the Net Zero Energy Manager, the successful candidate will analyse data and work with the team to build project pipelines and develop funding applications with a priority focus on energy, decarbonisation, flooding and climate adaption. Your role will involve:
- Analysis of large numerical datasets and using mapping software to identify project opportunities which support the Council’s Plan 2024-2028, the Environment & Climate Strategy 2026-2035 and the Local Flood Risk Management Strategy.
- Research and identify appropriate external funding opportunities and support development of funding applications.
- Ensure the databases are kept up-to-date and are accessible to allow for efficient data collation to satisfy reporting deadlines.
- Support project delivery by coordinating procurement and contractors.
- Support the team in the organisation and payment of the councils utility bills.
What we are looking for:
- Demonstrated experience of using Microsoft Excel to analyse datasets using excel formulas.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new software or analysis tools, such as mapping, and to apply new skills effectively.
- Qualification or relevant work experience in a sustainability, data or analytical related discipline.
- Capable of independent research and comfortable seeking feedback to bridge knowledge gaps.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities effectively.
