We have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Operative to join us! This is a full-time, permanent office based role with a salary of £25,706 - £27,306 per annum.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Facilities Operative to join our Property Services team.
The Role: Reporting to the Facilities Operations Lead, you will support the day-to-day operation of civic and corporate buildings across the borough, helping to ensure they remain safe, welcoming and operational for staff, residents, councillors and visitors. This is a varied, hands on and public facing role involving room setups, building checks, post duties, safety support and general soft facilities management tasks. You will work as part of a wider facilities rota supporting civic, ceremonial and corporate functions across council buildings.
Your role will involve:
- Opening and securing council buildings and carrying out basic safety and building checks
- Setting up rooms and supporting meetings, civic functions and events
- Supporting post room, delivery and consumables duties across council buildings
- Assisting residents, visitors and staff with enquiries and wayfinding
- Supporting building safety arrangements including fire alarm checks and emergency procedures
What we are looking for:
- Experience working in a facilities, caretaking, building support or customer facing environment
- A reliable and flexible approach with the ability to work as part of a rota system
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and use initiative when responding to operational issues
- Ability to undertake physical duties including lifting, moving and room setup activities independently
