This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic Business Partnerships Assistants to join our Economic Growth team within the Place directorate.

The Role

Reporting to the Business Partnerships Manager, these roles support the Council’s work with businesses and commercial partners across the borough. The postholders will contribute to activity that supports thriving town centres and a strong local economy, working closely with colleagues, partners and the wider business community. The roles offer a varied mix of office‑based work and engagement within the borough, supporting business partnerships, events and income‑generating activity.

Your role will involve:

  • Acting as a professional and customer‑focused point of contact for businesses, partners and members of the public.
  • Supporting engagement with the borough’s business community, including town centre and partnership activity.
  • Providing administrative and coordination support to business‑focused initiatives, events and projects.
  • Assisting with promotional activity, including digital and social media engagement.
  • Supporting financial and governance processes in line with council procedures.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with confidence dealing with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in administration, coordination or business support activity.
  • An interest in marketing, promotion or business engagement, including use of digital channels.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage varied tasks and priorities.
  • A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to support activity across the borough, including occasional evenings or weekends.
