We have an exciting opportunity for Asset Manager, Property to join us! This is a full-time, permanent hybrid role with a salary of £55,296 - £60,286 per annum.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Asset Manager, Property to join our Property Services team.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Asset Manager, you will play a key role in the professional management and optimisation of the Council’s commercial property portfolio and operational estate. You will lead on a wide range of landlord and tenant matters including lease negotiations, rent reviews, lettings and asset performance management, whilst supporting the delivery of the Council’s wider property and investment objectives. This is a varied and commercially focused role offering the opportunity to work across acquisitions, disposals, estate management and strategic asset optimisation within a large and diverse property portfolio.

Your role will involve:

  • Managing the Council’s commercial property portfolio to maximise income and asset performance
  • Leading lease negotiations, rent reviews, lease renewals and lettings activities
  • Managing acquisitions, disposals and wider property transactions
  • Monitoring portfolio performance, income and service charge arrangements
  • Providing professional property advice to internal stakeholders, senior officers and councillors

What we are looking for:

  • Qualified Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) with post qualification experience in commercial property or asset management
  • Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation and commercial property practice
  • Experience of lease negotiations, rent reviews and asset optimisation activities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities independently
