We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join us!

This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of £32,962 – £36,791 per annum (up to £41,613 per annum for exceptional candidates). RBWM has a corporate Procurement Team that supports a diverse range of procurements. We are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer that can provide expert advice and guidance to Council Officers.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced enthusiastic Procurement Officer to join our Procurement team.

The role

You will report to the Procurement Manager and join a small team of Procurement Officers that deliver procurement and contract management advice and expertise to the Council. The role will involve working across directorates in a diverse range of procurements, which may include IT Systems, IT Products, Social Care services, Public Health Services, Construction, Council and Finance Services.

Your role will involve

  • Conducting (independently) end-to-end above-threshold tenders – this will include providing guidance to clients on routes to market, specifications, evaluation methodology and contract management.
  • Support client in low level self-service procurements with advice and guidance on the use of templates.
  • Providing expert advice on Procurement Regulations and Internal Governance.
  • Assist in maintaining the Council\’s Contract Register and support the Procurement Manager in maintaining governance within the Council.
  • Delivering procurements with innovative ideas that meet our budgetary constraints.
  • Promoting the reputation of Procurement, by being present and involved in projects.

  • Someone that collaborates well with the Project Team, ensuring that a Procurement Project is delivered on time and that Value for Money is achieved.
  • Creative and flexible, able to design a procurement that suits the requirement.
  • Someone with strong written and oral communication skills.
