We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Services Monitoring Officer to join us! This is a full-time, permanent role based out and about in the borough with hybrid working, and a salary of £32,962 - £36,791 per annum.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Environmental Services Monitoring Officer to join our Environmental Services team.
The Role:
This role will report into the Waste & Cleansing Contracts Manager and will carry out the day to day monitoring of the council’s recycling, waste and cleansing service contracts for an allocated geographical area and liaise with contractors to resolve issues.
Your role will involve
- Identifying service failures and issues and taking appropriate action.
- Investigating and responding to service delivery complaints and resolving or escalating as required.
- Ensuring performance data is recorded to support decision-making and contract management.
- Assisting in the monitoring of leisure and grounds maintenance contracts.
- Providing administration and data support for contracts and projects.
- Providing advice and information to any local groups, individuals, council officers and members, landowners and other organisations.
- Supporting activity to increase the involvement of residents, schools and community groups in looking after their areas so that cleaner and greener neighbourhoods are self-sustaining.
What we are looking for:
- A good understanding of environmental services, including recycling and waste management.
- Ability to deal with difficult situations calmly and effectively.
- Experience of working with suppliers monitoring the effectiveness of contracts.
- The ability to work with minimal supervision in a busy environment whilst prioritising and organising a varying workload.
- Experience of investigating and responding to complaints and service requests.
- Excellent communication skills, in person and in writing.
