We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Public Health Analyst to join us! This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of £55,296 - £60,286 per annum.
Main duties of the job
- Lead the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and other health intelligence projects and programmes, maintaining and developing governance and systems to ensure effective and efficient delivery.
- Delivery and oversight of data analysis, ensuring high standards of data governance and quality are maintained.
- Collaboration with partners including the NHS to maximise the impact of local data on decision making through creation of joint understanding of health needs and priorities.
- Increasing the health intelligence capability and capacity within the public health team and where appropriate, with other partners, to support high quality and impactful use of data and evidence.
- Develop and enhance the health intelligence function, aligning the scope and approach with the emerging Thames Valley Population Health Unit and the councils Community of Practice for data.
- Making best use of technology such as PowerBi to improve the efficiency, quality and impact of data analysis.

Job responsibilities
The Senior Public Health Analyst provides leadership for RBWM's health intelligence function, working to maximise the impact of public health work programmes on health outcomes through effective use of data. This includes analytical capacity and capability building within the public health team; working across the council to mobilise our Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy, in collaboration with the Thames Valley Integrated Care Board and Population Health Unit. The role reports into the Deputy Director of Public Health and is part of a wider function supporting evidence led decision making, which includes research and community insights.
Qualifications
- An impact driven health intelligence analyst who has experience of delivering and leading public health intelligence programmes and analysing complex data to produce actionable insights.
- Experience of working within or with local government and therefore familiar with the opportunities and approach to evidence-based decision making in a political environment.
- Proficient in using PowerBi and other technology to deliver analytical projects.
- A highly effective communicator, able to translate complex data into clear narratives that can be used for influence and ultimately improving health outcomes for our local population.
