As the Team Manager for Occupational Therapy and Sensory services, you will lead a dedicated team spanning the Royal Borough, ensuring residents receive high-quality integrated support that maximises independence.
Working style
You will be based in the Borough 4 days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community.
Responsibilities
- Balance strategic direction with high-level operational oversight to deliver excellent service.
- Provide clinical and professional supervision to up to 12 Occupational Therapists and the Sensory Impairment team, nurturing growth through regular appraisals and CPD opportunities.
- Guide the team through complex case management and safeguarding processes, including coordinating Section 42 enquiries.
- Take ownership of performance targets and systematic governance to meet Local Authority and NHS Trust requirements.
- Manage a delegated budget of up to £2 million for home care and community equipment, authorise care packages and equipment that offer the best value and outcomes.
- Work closely with GPs, Housing teams, and Acute Trusts to deliver integrated health and social care priorities across the borough.
- Support the Head of Service in driving service innovation through personalisation.
Qualifications
- Registered professional qualification in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent Health/Education professional qualification) and current HCPC registration.
- Experienced leader with proven track record of managing multi-agency teams at a manager level within complex environments.
- Expert understanding of Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2004, and professional regulations, translating them into frontline practice.
- Financial acumen to manage significant budgets effectively.
- Motivating leader who inspires quality service delivery and demonstrates a proactive "can-do" attitude.
- Skilled communicator capable of working diplomatically with stakeholders, responding to residents and elected members with integrity.
