As a strategic commissioner with the Public Health Team, you will be committed to delivering impactful services that improve the health and wellbeing of our residents and address health inequalities across both Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster.

Working Style: Working across the two boroughs, you\’ll be based in the office for three days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you\’re working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you\’ll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents\’ lives.

What you\’ll be doing:

At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster City Council, the focus is on transforming health and social care to improve the health and wellbeing of residents and address health inequalities. As a strategic commissioner with the Public Health Team, you will lead on the substance misuse and integrated healthy lifestyle health commissioning portfolio and work across various public health commissioning projects.

Collaboration is key to this role. You will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and community organizations to ensure services are high-quality, co-produced, outcome-focused, and offer real value for money. Your leadership will empower your team and partners to innovate confidently and deliver services that make a tangible difference to residents\’ lives.

This role involves overseeing strategic needs assessments to support needs-led decision-making and developing strategies to improve health and wellbeing through informed and targeted commissioning. You will manage complex projects and champion new approaches to service delivery.

  • You have the ability to plan, execute, and oversee commissioning to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
