Seize local green employment opportunities for a fairer and more sustainable future. In this key role, you'll help turn Lancaster West into a model estate for the 21st century - leading innovative green skills academy programme and circular economy projects that empower residents, build local partnerships and drive lasting change.

Working Style: You'll be based in the Borough for five days a week, with some flexibility, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you're working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you'll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents' lives.

What you'll be doing: You'll lead the strategic planning and day-to-day delivery of our flagship Green Skills Academy and circular economy programme. From delivering energy advice to green employment opportunities and training, funded through a major five-year, grant-funded initiative, you'll oversee every aspect of these projects - building robust plans, overseeing budgets, managing delivery partners, tracking progress and ensuring each initiative delivers real outcomes for residents.

Your work will include creating behaviour change campaigns, developing training offers and managing circular economy initiatives that help residents live and work more sustainably. You'll also lead on managing partnerships and representing the Lancaster West Neighbourhood Team in forums across the borough and beyond.

This is a people-focused role. You'll collaborate with council colleagues, community groups and local partners to bring ideas to life - supporting resident engagement, building long-term relationships and managing a Project Support Officer. From delivering community events to driving forward sustainability goals, you'll be helping transform Lancaster West Estate into a national example of what local refurbishment and co-designed placemaking can achieve.

What you'll bring: You'll bring strong project management experience, ideally supported by a qualification like PRINCE2, Agile or Lean Six Sigma. You're confident managing complex, multi-stakeholder programmes from design to delivery, especially those that are grant-funded and resident-focused. With a background in delivering in community settings, with knowledge of green skills, training, employment and/or the circular economy, you understand what it takes to embed sustainability in a way that's accessible and meaningful to residents. You're also a skilled communicator - confident in building relationships, engaging stakeholders and presenting ideas clearly across a range of audiences. Above all, you're proactive, practical and people-centred. You're someone who spots opportunities, works collaboratively and genuinely wants to create positive, lasting change at a local level.

Why join us: At RBKC, we're all in - investing in our people, our communities and our future. This role gives you the chance to lead on innovative work that supports both environmental and social goals. You'll be part of a passionate, supportive team working across the Council and directly with residents to shape Lancaster West into a model estate. Your work will be seen, valued and have a real legacy. We offer a competitive salary, access to ongoing development and the opportunity to help shape a programme that reflects the needs, values and strengths of the community. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of teams and partners, all working towards shared goals. You'll play a lead role in bringing that vision to life.
