As an Apprenticeships and Intermediate Labour Market Coordinator, you\’ll work at the intersection of business, opportunity and community impact. This role is about opening doors – helping local people move into meaningful apprenticeships, training, and employment, and supporting employers to grow their workforce in ways that benefit everyone.

Create real opportunities for local people and help shape a fairer future.As an Apprenticeships and Intermediate Labour Market Coordinator, you\’ll work at the intersection of business, opportunity and community impact. This role is about opening doors – helping local people move into meaningful apprenticeships, training, and employment, and supporting employers to grow their workforce in ways that benefit everyone.Working Style:You\’ll be based in the Borough at least 3 days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you\’re working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you\’ll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents\’ lives.What you\’ll be doing:You\’ll lead the development of a borough-wide apprenticeships programme – building partnerships with businesses, contractors, community organisations and other employers across the public, private and voluntary sectors.Your work will focus on creating roles that are inclusive, accessible and truly beneficial. That means working with employers to understand their needs, supporting them to think creatively, and linking them with residents who are ready to learn and contribute. You\’ll also develop opportunities within the Council itself, from work experience and placements to structured apprenticeship roles, collaborating closely with our HR team.Alongside this, you\’ll create and coordinate intermediate labour market programmes – helping residents build their confidence and skills through volunteering, work experience and other structured pathways that lead to sustained employment.You\’ll stay connected with the wider landscape too – working with colleagues in Housing and Employment and Children\’s Services to make sure opportunities reach the right people, and contributing to a borough-wide apprenticeships programmes shaped with our employers.
