This placement offers an exciting opportunity for a student to gain experience within a unique high performance environment at the forefront of sports science, strength and conditioning (S&C) and applied research at The Royal Ballet School. The placement coach will support the delivery of S&C in both the gym and the studio, working with students aged 16 – 19 years.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Data entry and administration
- Assisting with training‑load monitoring strategies
- Supporting internal data collection of research projects
- Assisting group and individual session planning and delivery
- Assisting with rehabilitation‑focused S&C
- Collaborating with members of the Healthcare and wider interdisciplinary support team
Strong communication skills are essential, as the placement coach will work closely with practitioners across dance, physiotherapy, psychology, sports science, and medical support. The placement coach will also benefit from a structured individual development plan and exposure to a range of learning and professional development opportunities.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will:
- Be based in Greater London and studying towards a degree in Sport Science, S&C or related field
- Possess knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and S&C principles
- Ideally, hold applied experience across rehabilitation and adolescence athlete development
- Show knowledge of LTAD, growth and maturation and training of adolescent athletes
- Show enthusiasm for learning within an interdisciplinary high‑performance environment
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
