Senior Management Accountant

We continue to develop our growing accounts and audit department and are looking for an experienced management accountant to join the team. Experience of working in an accountancy practice is not essential but this will bring variety to the role as the person will be working across a number of different clients. We are looking for someone who enjoys the regular work that this type of role brings, with no pressure on having to get involved in year-end financial accounts or tax returns.

Joining the practice you will be a key member of an experienced team working closely with business clients, providing management accounts, VAT and some bookkeeping services.

The main responsibilities of the position are, but will not be limited to:

• Reviewing client accounting records
• Processing accounting adjustments such as accruals and prepayments
• Posting journals for payroll, depreciation etc
• Preparing management accounts and information for clients
• Be able to analyse financial information and discuss with clients
• Preparing and submitting VAT Returns.

You must be able to work to deadlines and be flexible to work with multiple clients of different trades.

Skills required

• AAT qualification or greater
• Accounting and bookkeeping: 5 years (required)
• Be computer literate and have experience in working with software such as Sage, Xero and Excel
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle to visit client’s premises.

The ideal candidate should be able to work on assignments independently whilst being part of a larger team and support trainees with their work.
