As we continue to grow and develop our management accounts/outsourcing offering to our clients, we are looking for an innovative leader who can implement changes and develop our service offering, and digital capabilities to our clients. This is a varied role which will give the opportunity to drive the service standards of the team, using digital innovation, AI and other software to offer an excellent outsourced finance service to clients. This is an exciting new role, offering the chance to make it your own, requiring innovative thinking and the ability to problem solve.

The main responsibilities of the role (but are not limited to):

  • Lead and oversee delivery of monthly and quarterly management accounts for a range of SME clients
  • Manage a team delivering bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll, and forecasting as part of a full outsourced finance function
  • Review processes using cloud-based tools and other solutions incorporating AI technology
  • Prepare and present financial performance insights and cash flow forecasts
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring quality, consistency, and commercial awareness
  • Develop and manage client portfolios, contributing to fee growth and profitability
  • Support onboarding and digital transformation for new clients
  • Lead and mentor junior team members, supporting development and training
  • Play an active role in business development and the evolution of the outsourcing function

Skills required:

  • Experience in management accounting, with experience of working within a UK practice an advantage but not essential
  • Confident managing a portfolio of clients across various sectors
  • Proven experience with Xero and the cloud accounting ecosystem
  • Commercially minded with a focus on delivering value-added insights
  • Experienced in team leadership, mentoring, and workflow management
  • Comfortable with client communication and relationship building
  • Strong technical knowledge with attention to detail
  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience)
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Dext, Fathom or similar
  • Background in process improvement or digital transformation projects
  • Experience with KPI reporting, budgeting, and cash flow planning
