Rowans Hospice are seeking volunteer counsellors to help us support the bereaved.
We are looking for qualified counsellors who would like to offer their skills to support the bereaved. We are looking for compassionate people with good listening skills and are actively seeking to develop a diverse team of volunteers from as wide a range of backgrounds as possible.
As a volunteer bereavement counsellor, you would provide bereaved people with hour long sessions, giving them space to talk about their grief and make sense of their thoughts and feelings.
You would be joining a supportive team made up of other volunteers, clinical psychologists, counsellors, and trainee counsellors. You would attend monthly group supervision meetings (on a Monday afternoon or Wednesday morning) that provide you with guidance in your work with bereaved people. These supervision sessions are led by the clinical psychology team.
