I am an 11-year-old boy looking for a Support Worker. I am very sociable and active and love having fun. I enjoy being outside and like all means of transport but particularly like trains. My hobbies include horse riding, swimming, trampolining and going to the theatre and circus. I am non-verbal but I am working towards my speech and can communicate via Makaton and an automated device. I can display challenging behaviour at times and my care-givers use a positive behaviour support plan as I struggle with transitions and moving from one activity or location to another.
It would be an advantage if the PA has a full driving licence. Hours are flexible but preferably one weekday afternoon (after school until 7pm) and alternative weekends including some additional hours during the school holidays. Times to suit.
Summary of Duties:- Support the individual who is to be supported to access activities they enjoy.
- To be able to support in a personal centred way using techniques from the positive behaviour support plan.
- To work with the individual to help them communicate and navigate social situations.
- To support and maintain independence within the home as well as out in the community.
- All duties will be accompanied by a parent.
- Training and learning opportunities available
- 5.6 weeks rota of annual leave per year

Hours Required: 12 hours spread over the week (Flexible & to be agreed at interview)
Hourly Rate: £13.26
Please note that you will be working directly for the Employer or the Employer who is supporting the Citizen to manage the Direct Payment. An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role, if you have a transferable DBS check please make this known on your application form. Training will be tailored to the citizen’s needs. Please note the Employer will arrange this for you if the job is offered and accepted.
