Job Purpose

Reporting to the Production Manager, this role will have responsibility and accountability for managing and supporting performance. Adopt a right first-time mentality. Work with Shift Managers, operation teams, and all business functions/processes to achieve a first time.

What you will contribute

  • Develop a 'can do' culture/approach through strong collaborative teamwork, communication, and leadership across all operation teams.
  • Coach and mentor Line Leaders to full potential to lead teams.
  • In conjunction with HR teams, monitor 100% compliance with mandatory requirements.
  • Achieve and monitor shift performances to ensure efficiencies and standards are achieved across all functions.
  • Drive waste reduction and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Work with Shift Manager colleagues to ensure shift handovers are of a high standard and communication of events and issues between shifts is in place.
  • Support with NPD activities on plant and engage teams to get successful outcomes from all trials and first runs.
  • Implement processes for all Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and manual handling.
  • Ensure that work instructions are in place and are up to date.
  • Support accident investigations concerning LTA & RIDDORS and close off any corrective actions.
  • Support the implementation and training of the fire evacuation procedure, including First Aid.
  • Ensure quality is championed across the shift by attending quality panels and implementing any relevant actions.
  • Play an integral part in audits ensuring we are audit ready for BRC/Customers.
  • Ensure effective processes exist to enable compliance with relevant GMP standards including PPE, hygiene, CAYG, etc.

What you will bring

  • At least one year’s experience in a manufacturing organisation, preferably food or similar.
  • Good written and oral communication.
  • Self-motivated, team player with good attention to detail and the ability to solve problems.
  • Flexible in approach to work to meet demands.

Shift pattern

2 days working 7:00am-7:00pm, 2 nights 7:00pm-07:00am followed by 4 days off.
