We have an exciting opportunity to join our Warehouse Team in Winsford as a Warehouse / Stores Operative.

Job Purpose

This role will be responsible for acknowledging orders from suppliers and inspecting all vehicles on arrival. Unloading/loading vehicles and monitoring stock rotation using FIFO, ensuring continual supply of materials to production and production stock areas. Completing accurate stock counts when required.

What you will contribute

  • Acknowledge orders and booking in times from suppliers on the SAP computer system
  • Ensure vehicles are unloaded at their allotted time slot, loading and unloading vehicles, checking that the actual products received correspond with the relevant documentation. Ensure that the haulier’s vehicles are clean and intact and that no contamination, cross contamination or damage can, or has, taken place.
  • Inform warehouse manager of any damaged products or shortages
  • Record all pallet and IBC returns and receipts on supplier’s delivery notes, and on SAP delivery check sheets
  • Monitoring and adhering to stock rotation of ingredients and packaging and advising the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager of any products nearing their best before date.
  • Routinely marrying up of part pallets of like materials to optimise space
  • To attain and maintain a good knowledge of all relevant quality procedures and work instructions
  • Communicating with all other departments, suppliers, customers and hauliers on all aspects of the job
  • To maintain a safe and hygienic working environment in the warehouse and yard. Helping to maintain the security of the warehouse, whilst controlling visitors to the department and assisting them with their requirements and ensuring safety at all times

What you will bring

  • Counter Balance and Reach Truck licence is a must
  • SAP experience desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, speed and accurate
  • A flexible, friendly approach with a team focus and can-do attitude
  • Initiative, an eye for detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions

Hours of work

Shift pattern 6am - 2pm; 2pm - 10pm; 10pm - 6am rotating
