Hours: 20 hours per week
Working Pattern: Set weekly rota. Shifts range from 7am to 5pm, 4pm to 10pm, occasional 7am-10pm. Double ups 9.15am-10.15am, 4pm-5pm and 8pm-9pm.
Rates of Pay: £14.11 per hour, £21 per hour on bank holidays
Work Area/Location: Employer’s home address in Ware, Hertfordshire, SG12 area – must be local

About the job: You will be working in a family environment as part of a team who provide 24/7 care and support to a gentleman in his late 30’s who has an acquired brain injury. Communication skills are essential as communication plays a huge part in this role.
Main Tasks:
- All elements of personal care
- Moving and handling – including ceiling hoist use
- Administering medication via PEG (training will be provided)
- Communicating with the employer, you will need to lipread
- Assisting the employer with what they need
- Working as part of a team
- General cleaning of the room and wet room
Person Specification:
- Good communication skills, the ability to lipread or willingness to learn
- Experience within a similar role is preferred but training will be provided
- Must be able to commit to double up times (9.15am-10.15am, 4pm-5pm and 8pm-9pm). Ideally you will live locally
- Be punctual, reliable and flexible
- Must be honest and trustworthy
- Establish a professional standard of care, which should be maintained at all times
- Be prepared to undertake any training that may be required to meet the needs of the role
- Ensure that due consideration is given to health and safety at all times
- Respect and safeguard the goods and property of the employer
- Respect privacy and uphold confidentiality at all times
- If you use your car whilst working then you will require business use on your car insurance
