The predicted salary is between 34000 - 36000 £ per year.

We are looking for someone experienced to join our small team and help run a package of care for a 43-year-old male with a severe learning disability and complex health needs, living in his own home in Rothwell, Northamptonshire. Supporting the client to maintain their health and social needs within the home and community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and updating records - care plans, MAR sheets etc.
  • Training carers, supervisions, updating carers information
  • Organising rotas, holidays, sickness cover
  • Ordering and maintaining good stock levels
  • Maintain good communication between the care team and parents
  • Have a good clinical knowledge and competency of Tracheostomy and PEG management, Epilepsy and learning disability.
  • Support the client with all aspects of their care needs including:
  • personal care – includes washing, dressing, showering, toileting
  • medication administration
  • moving and handling, positioning
  • Tracheostomy and PEG management.
  • Social stimulation support
  • Work closely and maintain good communication between the care team to ensure the client has all their needs met.
  • Essential Experience

    • Have a good clinical knowledge and experience of:
    • Learning disabilities
    • Tracheostomy
    • PEG management
    • Epilepsy
    • Medication administration
  • Able to drive
  • You must like dogs
  • Able to cover holidays and sickness
  • Initially will be required to work day shifts alongside HCA to get to know the client.
  • Desirable Experience

    • Ideally will be flexible, have good organisational skills, be an excellent communicator and happy to work alone and as part of a team.

    Contracted Hours

    • 37½
    • Rate of pay £17.00 an hour
    • Weekend working will be required
    • Shift patterns are 7.15am – 7.45pm or 7.15 pm -7.45am

    Essential Criteria

    • Education/Qualifications: NVQ level 3/Care Certificate

    Experience

    • Experience working within Learning disability
    • Tracheostomy
    • PEG

    Skills/Ability/Knowledge

    • Ability to train other members of the team
    • Empathy and sensitivity to client’s needs.
