About the Role
We are looking for a committed and experienced Registered Manager to oversee the launch and ongoing operation of our new Ofsted-registered Children’s Homes in Rochdale. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing organisation from the beginning, shaping high-quality residential care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in securing Ofsted registration and will lead the homes to deliver outstanding care, support, and positive outcomes for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the registration process with Ofsted and ensure the homes are fully compliant with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management of the homes, creating a nurturing and safe environment for young people.
- Develop and maintain individualised care plans, ensuring that each child’s needs, rights, and dignity are prioritised.
- Oversee safeguarding procedures and ensure all staff are fully trained and compliant.
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team, fostering a positive and supportive working culture.
- Build strong relationships with external stakeholders including local authorities, social workers, schools, and healthcare providers.
- Maintain robust systems for monitoring, evaluating, and improving the quality of care.
- Manage budgets, rotas, risk assessments, and operational policies to ensure the efficient running of the homes.
- Ensure the homes achieve and maintain a minimum Ofsted rating of “Good” or “Outstanding.”
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a residential childcare setting within the past 5 years.
- Minimum 1 year in a supervisory or management role within a children’s home.
- Sound knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
- Ability to be registered with Ofsted as a Registered Manager.
Desirable:
- Proven experience in managing children's homes.
