The Role
As Compliance Manager, you will oversee all internal and external compliance requirements, helping ensure the business meets its legal obligations and internal policies. This is a key role supporting operations across Steadplan’s network, requiring a balance of regulatory understanding, process improvement and excellent communication.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and lead the company-wide compliance strategy across all departments
- Manage audits and inspections, identifying risks and areas for improvement
- Monitor and ensure compliance with industry legislation (e.g. FCA, DVSA, GDPR, H&S)
- Keep policies and procedures up to date in line with legal requirements and best practice
- Collaborate with senior leadership to embed a proactive compliance culture
- Provide training, coaching and support to staff on regulatory standards
- Prepare reports, maintain accurate records and liaise with external regulators where necessary
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a compliance-related role, preferably within the automotive or transport sector
- Knowledge of FCA and GDPR requirements
- Experience conducting internal audits and writing compliance policies
- Confident working independently and communicating across multiple departments
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems
Desirable
- Recognised compliance or legal qualification
- Understanding of DVSA regulations
- Experience working in a commercial vehicle dealership or workshop environment
