We are seeking an empathetic and dedicated Male Support Worker to provide personalized care and assistance to a young man 'J' who is 30 years old with a learning disability, neurological migration disorder, left-sided hemiplegia, epilepsy, and challenging behaviour. J loves nothing more than singing along on car rides and a visit to the pub or arcades, and he will give you a run for your money when bowling!
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in improving the individual's quality of life, promoting independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. There will also be an element of personal care and moving and handling.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in a similar role or relevant healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with the mentioned medical conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Compassionate and patient-centred approach to care.
Working Hours
The position may require flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, to ensure comprehensive care coverage.
