Work Pattern: You will be required to work on a 7-day rota to be discussed and agreed in advance. 8am – 8pm

Based at: Telford, TF2 6**
Job Purpose: The main purpose of this job role is to provide care and support to a young man in his own home and within the community.
Main duties:
- To provide constant supervision to the young man to ensure his health and wellbeing and general safety at all times.
- To provide support to the young man with all aspects of daily living, be this within the home or local community.
- To encourage and enable the young man to participate in sensory activities.
- To prompt the young man to eat/drink with support with feeding and monitoring his fluid intake.
- Support the young man to mobilise within the home – guiding and supporting as necessary.
- To provide personal care as and when needed.
- Prepare and administer medications.
- To carry out any other tasks deemed relevant to the role by the employer.
Personal Specification:
- Have experience of working with vulnerable adults.
- Flexible in the hours and times that you can work.
- Be patient and supportive.
- Be friendly and outgoing.
- Be punctual, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Be respectful of the employer’s dignity, at all times.
- Understand the need for privacy and confidentiality.
- You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- A willingness to undergo any training highlighted by the employer.
- You should have some knowledge and understanding of risks.
- Have an awareness and knowledge of equal opportunities.
- Have a full driving licence and feel confident in driving. The mobility van drive is desired but not essential.
Special Conditions: You must tell your employer if the licence changes in any way that may affect this employment. If you were to lose your licence, then this may lead to dismissal unless another suitable role became available within your employer’s home. This post is subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS check at the employer’s request prior to commencing employment. This is confidential and at no cost to yourself. The post carries a 6-month probationary period.
