Role: Lift Engineer

Location: Plymouth

Salary range: £38k–43k per annum

Hours: 7.30am – 4.30pm

Job purpose: To carry out statutory LOLER inspections on a variety of lifting equipment. Inspections to be carried out thoroughly and to an excellent standard.

Key tasks:

  • Insurance inspections – Attending sites, examining a wide variety of lifting equipment and issuing reports to clients.
  • Condition surveys – Surveying existing plants to provide a report upon the incumbent service provider's service delivery, compliance with current Health & Safety Legislation, Disability Discrimination Act compliance and short/medium/long term comments in respect to lift cycle analysis of the plant. Provide an overview report of possible options for either refurbishment of existing installation or replacement with a new pre-engineered modular design solution.
  • Equipment audits – Carry out visual surveys of existing installations to 'benchmark' the installation against our in-house predetermined 'quality' expectations and produce reports.
  • Maintenance audits – Providing professional advice on the incumbent service provider as to their overall performance and service delivery and produce reports.
  • Travelling independently to attend customer sites/premises as required.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of products and full range of accessories.
  • Completing test certificates and associated paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Abide by Health & Safety regulations at all times.
  • To work in a manner that is methodical, efficient, considerate and respectful to clients at all times – providing excellent customer service.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as deemed necessary by the Senior Associate.

Key objectives:

  • Excellent customer/client experience.
  • Maintenance / inspections / repairs carried out efficiently, safely and accurately in a cost-effective manner.
  • Accurate records maintained.

Person Specification - Essential:

  • Qualified (or equivalent experience) to at least NVQ 3 - Lift Engineering.
  • Proven experience of carrying out service/maintenance lift inspections.
  • Experience of independently diagnosing / repairing a variety of lifts.
  • Experience working autonomously in a customer facing role.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Excellent understanding of current Health & Safety procedures and standards applicable to the job role.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
