Based at: Employer’s own home in Haverhill, Suffolk and out in the local community.
Job Purpose
Caring for a nonverbal autistic young boy during the school holidays either at home in Haverhill Suffolk or out in the local community. The candidate must be a driver.
Main duties
- Personal care e.g. changing nappies / toileting.
- Constant supervision is required at all times.
- Support with all safety aspects.
- Assisting with medication.
- To support with feeding and drinking (help to make food / drinks).
- Keeping him entertained and happy at home or either outside.
- To build a friendly and trustworthy relationship with the child.
- The boy does have epilepsy so you must follow his care plan.
- The child is nonverbal and communicates through a talk pad.
- The candidate must like dogs / cats.
- To build a supportive relationship and take part in activities which the child enjoys.
- To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.
Personal Specification
- Flexible in the hours and times that you can work.
- Experience with caring for children with epilepsy and autism is essential.
- You should have knowledge and understanding of risks.
- Be patient, friendly and supportive.
