Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking directions from the employer.

Hours: Live in carer – 168 hours per week

Work Pattern: Two weeks on and two weeks off or one week on and one week off. Hours can be discussed at interview stage.

Rate of Pay: £12.71 per hour

Based at: Hilton, Cambridgeshire

Job Purpose: I am looking for a compassionate, reliable, and proactive Live in Personal assistant / carer to join my small team and support me to live independently in my own home in Hilton, Cambridgeshire. This is a live in role providing support as part of a rota with my two existing carers, ensuring I have 24/7 support. I have a spinal cord injury and use a manual wheelchair. Your role will include supporting me with personal care, household tasks, meal preparation, attending appointments and helping me to access the community, enabling me to live as independently and actively as possible. I enjoy music, sports, travelling, history and 3D printing, spending time in my garden and exploring the countryside. I’m looking for someone who is friendly, positive and enjoys supporting an active lifestyle.

Please note: This is a live in position based in the employer's home. Applicants must already live in the UK and have the right to work in the UK and we are unable to offer via sponsorship.

Personal Specification:

  • A driver with own vehicle and business insurance
  • Be patient and supportive.
  • Be a dog lover
  • Be honest, reliable and trustworthy.
  • Be respectful of the gentleman’s dignity, at all times.
  • Understand the need for privacy and confidentiality.
  • You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills and willingness to raise any concerns immediately.
  • A willingness to undergo any training highlighted by the employer.

Special Conditions: This post is subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check at the employer's request prior to commencing employment. This is confidential and at no cost to yourself. The offer will be made subject to satisfactory references. The post carries a 6 month’s probationary period.
