Role: Lift Engineer
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary range: £38k – 43k per annum
Hours: 7.30am – 4.30pm
Job purpose: To carry out statutory LOLER inspections on a variety of lifting equipment. Inspections to be carried out thoroughly and to an excellent standard.
Key tasks:
- Insurance inspections – Attending sites, examining a wide variety of lifting equipment and issuing reports to clients.
- Condition surveys – Surveying existing plants to provide a report upon the incumbent service provider's service delivery, compliance with current Health & Safety Legislation, Disability Discrimination Act compliance and short/medium/long term comments in respect to lift cycle analysis of the plant. Provide an overview report of possible options for either refurbishment of existing installation or possible replacement with a new pre‑engineered modular design solution.
- Equipment audits – Carry out visual surveys of existing installations to 'benchmark' the installation against our in‑house predetermined 'quality' expectations and produce reports.
- Maintenance audits – Providing professional advice on the incumbent service provider as to their overall performance and service delivery and produce reports.
- Travelling independently – To attend customer sites/premises as required. Maintaining an up‑to‑date knowledge of products and full range of accessories.
- Completing test certificates and associated paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
- Abide by Health & Safety regulations at all times.
- To work in a manner that is methodical, efficient, considerate and respectful to clients at all times – providing excellent customer service.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as deemed necessary by the Senior Associate.

Person Specification – Essential:
- Qualified (or equivalent experience) to at least NVQ 3 – Lift Engineering.
- Proven experience of carrying out service/maintenance lift inspections.
- Experience of independently diagnosing / repairing a variety of lifts.
- Experience working autonomously in a customer facing role.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Excellent understanding of current Health & Safety procedures and standards applicable to the job role.
- Full UK Driving license.
