We are currently recruiting to add to our existing team due to an increase in care hours, supporting an 18-year-old young gentleman with complex care needs in his family home in Halifax. This role offers 18 hours per week on a rolling rota, working 8am–4pm for 3 day shifts. You will also work 1 in 3 weekends. The rate of pay is £13.50 per hour.

O lives at home with his parents and younger sibling. He communicates using eye gaze technology and facial expressions, as he is non‐verbal. O uses his eyes to direct people to what he wants and enjoys making choices about his daily activities. He knows his own mind and is clear about his likes and dislikes. O enjoys watching TV and DVDs, and his support worker helps him plan and complete other enjoyable activities when on shift. O accesses the community in his mobility vehicle, which his dad drives, and he also attends college, where he enjoys spending time with support staff.

Experience with PEG feeding, cerebral palsy, tracheostomy care (including suctioning and cough assist), use of nebulisers, manual handling, pressure care, and personal care would be highly beneficial to ensure the best possible support for O.
