We are seeking a reliable and compassionate support worker to support our daughter and provide support for 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday 20:00-22:00 and 5 hours on either a Saturday or Sunday. Our daughter is 26 years old and lives at our home address in Erdington. She is a wheelchair user and uses a hoist for transfers; full training will be provided.
The role involves not only providing practical care and assistance but also encouraging and enabling the young lady to maintain her independence, pursue her interests and stay actively engaged in the activities she enjoys.
Main duties:- Personal care: Support with all aspects of personal care ensuring hygiene, comfort, and dignity at all times.
- Support with administering medication through a tube.
- Perform any other duties that are of a reasonable request. All training will be provided.
- Experience of working with young adults with special needs.
- Be patient and supportive.
- Be honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Be respectful of the young lady's dignity at all times.
- Understand the need for privacy and confidentiality.
- You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills and raise any concerns immediately.
- A willingness to undergo any training highlighted by the employer.
