Female personal assistant required for a lovely lady who lives in CW1 area to support with daily care needs and going out in the community.

Hours and rate of Pay: £14.00 per hour. 7.5 hours per week (30 minutes Mon, Tues, Wed and Fri, 5.5 hrs on a Thursday).

Main Duties:

  • Prompting with personal care, eating and drinking
  • Supporting with social interaction
  • Accompanying to appointments when applicable
  • Support during Autistic shutdowns/meltdowns
  • Promote independence and confidence
  • Support emotional wellbeing and mental health
  • Going out in the community
  • Building rapport with client
  • Encouraging with daily living

Personal Assistant Specification:

Essential:

  • Driving licence with own transport.
  • DBS check will be required.
  • Good understanding of autistic shutdowns and meltdowns in adults and confident with supporting during this (either through training or experience).
  • Previous experience supporting adults with complex mental health.
  • Previous experience supporting adults with autism.
  • Previous experience as a PA.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Understanding of Fibromyalgia and/or previous experience supporting.
  • Understanding of ADHD and/or previous experience.
  • Basic understanding of BSL.
  • First aid trained.

Personal qualities:

  • Assistant must be honest, trustworthy, and reliable.
  • Must respect my privacy and always maintain my dignity.
  • Must be enthusiastic and flexible with a caring disposition.
  • Must be able to work well independently.
  • Accountable to me in all aspects of their work.
  • Should always ask what my needs are and listen to my directions and requests.
  • Strict confidentiality.
